Clocker Report: Horses to watch this weekend

​TORONTO, November 9 – Each week, Woodbine’s head clocker Ernie Perri comments on some of the top workouts watched, highlighting horses to key on in upcoming races at Woodbine.

[Track ratings based on a scale of 1-5 with ‘1’ being the slowest.]

Saturday, Race 1 – Distinct Passion
Ernie said: “Looking at the work on October 20, Distinct Passion worked with Vintage Time in :59.80 through splits of :23.8, :35.20, home in :24.60, out in 1:12.80 for Denyse McClachrie. Worked after the break, with the track even rated 3. Had follow up work also beating older horses.”

Saturday, Race 6 – Happycrest
Ernie said: “Happycrest worked on October 28 for John Charalambous in :59.40 after the break. The track was on the slow side rated 2.5. This barn recently had a first time winner.”

Sunday, Race 1 – La Dolce Uno
Ernie said: “La Dolce Uno worked in :47.80 on November 4 for Andrew Smith, out-working another first-time starter. Worked after the break, with the track fair rated 3. In previous gate work, sprinted away from company the final 16th.”
