Clocker Report: Horses to watch this weekend

October 12, 2017

TORONTO, October 12 – Each week, Woodbine’s head clocker Ernie Perri comments on some of the top workouts watched, highlighting horses to key on in upcoming races at Woodbine.

[Track ratings based on a scale of 1-5 with ‘1’ being the slowest.]

Friday, Race 8 – Autonomic
Ernie said: “Autonomic worked for Malcolm Pierce in :48 breezing from the gate on October 1 after the break with the track fair rated 3. I believe she fixed her gate issues and should run good at a price.”

Saturday, Race 3 – Dolly Dagger
Ernie said: “Dolly Dagger worked for Gonzalez breezing in :46.60b before the break on August 27 over a slow track rated 2. She galloped out in :59.60 and was second best of 56. Looks to be improved. Only drawback two works after that.”

Sunday, Race 3 – Almighty Bear
Ernie said: “Almighty Bear worked for De Paulo on October 6 after the break in :49.60 breezing from the gate and beating company. The track was listed a 3 even. This one is all about the physical presence: nice-looking stride.”

Sunday, Race 5 – Maxixe
Ernie said: “Maxixe worked for Griffith on October 7 breezing in :59.20 after the break. The track was quick, rated 3.5. She started behind a couple then opened up at the 16th pole beating company handily. Looked very professional. Buzz horse.”
