Clocker Report: Horses to watch this weekend

November 16, 2017

TORONTO, November 16, 2017 – Each week, Woodbine’s head clocker Ernie Perri comments on some of the top workouts watched, highlighting horses to key on in upcoming races at Woodbine.

[Track ratings based on a scale of 1-5 with ‘1’ being the slowest.]

Friday, Race 7 – Niigon’s Legacy
Ernie said: “Niigon’s Legacy worked in :59.40b for Giliforte after the break on November 9. Just shows the one work; from that standpoint this work looked very, very good. Worked after the break when the track was slow rated 2.5.”

Saturday, Race 8 – Smooth Talk
Ernie said: “Smooth Talk worked in 1:00.80b for Day Phillips on November 11 in company with first time starter Sandy Bay (1:01h) after the break. The track was slow rated 2.5. Looking to upset the favourite.”

Sunday, Race 4 – Ambitious Moon
Ernie said: “Ambitious Moon, a three-year-old Halden trainee, worked on November 12 in 1:02.80 beating a mate by two lengths. The track was very slow after the break, rated 2. I like the fact that she worked five times in October, I like the connections and breeding. She is a full sister to Lunar Garden.”
