Clocker Report: Horses to watch this weekend

May 11, 2018

TORONTO, May 11, 2018 – Each week, Woodbine’s head clocker Ernie Perri comments on some of the top workouts watched, highlighting horses to key on in upcoming races at Woodbine.

[Track ratings based on a scale of 1-5 with ‘1’ being the slowest.]

Friday, Race 6 – Esken

Perri said: “Esken worked in :49.20 breezing for Mark Casse on May 6. He worked in company with Souper Shenanigan (same time). Esken is coming off poor form, but may take a liking to the Tapeta. He worked after the break, with the track fair rated 3. His work back on April 14 in :59.80 was encouraging, beating workmate Timeiseverything.”

Sunday, Race 9 – Leonard’s Bay

Perri said: “Leonard’s Bay worked in :59.60 breezing for David Bell on May 6 after the break. The track was fair rated 3. He started at the 5/8 pole, did have a couple in front of him to chase and closed in on them well. Will be a good price in a contentious race.”

Perri also took note of works by Red Rita and Worlds Your Oyster, both entered Friday, as well as Sunday starters Royal Creed and O’Kratos.
