Clocker Report: Horses to watch this weekend

May 18, 2018

TORONTO, May 18, 2018 – Each week, Woodbine’s head clocker Ernie Perri comments on some of the top workouts watched, highlighting horses to key on in upcoming races at Woodbine.

[Track ratings based on a scale of 1-5 with ‘1’ being the slowest.]

Saturday, Race 8 (Selene Stakes) – Go Noni Go

Perri said: “Go Noni Go worked for Mike Maker first thing Saturday morning (May 12) while the track was very slow rated a 2. She worked in 1:00 breezing, with Hernandez aboard, splits of :34.40 and :46.40. She is looking to upset favourite Dixie Moon. Her previous work on May 5 was in 1:01.20 handily, out in 1:13.40. Looks strong coming into this race.”

Saturday, Race 9 – Aurora Way

Perri said: “Aurora Way worked for Stuart Simon on May 4 in :46.60 after the break. The track was fast rated 4, but this move was by far the best half-mile only work. Back since running in Keeneland.”

Saturday, Race 10 – Count Forest

Perri said: “Count Forest worked for David Bell on May 13 in :58.60 breezing, out in 1:11.40, splits of :23.40, :34.40, home in :24. He worked just in behind Sable Island and kept pace with him. The track was fast rated 4.”

Sunday, Race 7 – Will She

Perri said: “Will She worked for Mike Keogh in :59 going back to April 22, out in 1:12.20 with Moran up The final half was in :46. She has since had some quick works on the dirt.”
