Four for Fraser

Rider Fraser Aebly knocked it out of the park Saturday at Woodbine, hitting a grand slam with four wins on the day.

The multiple graded stakes winning jockey opened the scoring with Colebrook Farms’ Deputy Ghost in the first before adding tallies two and three with Duckduckduck and Bells of Paradise in  the fourth and sixth, respectively.

Aebly notched his fourth triumph courtesy of the Gail Cox-trained Hint, who solved the program’s ninth contest to break his maiden.

Woodbine’s fourth-leading jockey by wins (71) added a pair of thirds to finish his sensational Saturday 4-2-0 from six starts.

Law is in Great Order

Dixie Law, paired with leading rider Rafael Hernandez, dropped the gavel with a confident triumph of the $150,000 Mazarine Stakes Presented by Ketel One (G3), Sunday at Woodbine.

After settling off the pace in the early goings, the 2-year-old Hillsbrook Farms bay took command of the 1 1/16-mile tilt straightening for home, never to look back for the smooth 1 ¼-length decision.

Now standing at 3-0-0 from four starts, all of which have come at Woodbine, Dixie Law tracked down her second consecutive stakes tally for trainer Dale Desruisseaux (Cup and Saucer Stakes, October 5).

As the 2-1 favourite in the Mazarine, Dixie Law paid $6.10.

‘Con’ has got game

The Big Con (GB) looked like a consummate pro Sunday at Woodbine, riding the rail to the promised land in the $150,000 bet365 Grey Stakes (G3).

Sent off as the 4-5 choice, The Big Con, with rider Sahin Civaci aboard, found a seam in the two-path straightening for the stretch drive and didn’t miss his window, delivering a blazing kick down the lane to seal his first stakes score by three-quarters of a length.

Unbeaten through two starts thus far, the Miguel Clement charge has banked more than $85,000 for owners Reeves Thoroughbred Racing, Tony Weintraub, and Brandon Dalinka.

The Big Con, who was bred in England by St Albans Bloodstock LLP, paid $3.60.
