Jupiter out of this world in Display Stakes

October 12, 2025

TORONTO, October 12, 2025 – Jupiter, under Fraser Aebly, notched his first stakes victory courtesy of a strong late surge in the seven-furlong $125,000 Display, for 2-year-olds, Sunday at Woodbine.

Navy Street and Timeframe went straight to the front in the five-horse field followed by 4-5 choice Jupiter, Speights Will and first-timer Baaeed Alynna, who was off a step slowly, as Navy Street clicked off an opening quarter in a modest :24.53.

Navy Street, who won his debut, led by a length through a half in :49.23, while Aebly, in third with Jupiter, looked to reel in the freewheeling frontrunner heading into the final turn.

As the field straightened, Navy Street began to sprint away from his pursuers and held a 2 ½-length advantage at the stretch call. Jupiter finally began to make inroads on the game leader soon after, as Baaeed Alynna found her best stride and came with an energetic outside burst, to set up a thrilling final 50 yards to the finish line.

Jupiter crossed the wire a half-length victor. Navy Street was second, a nose ahead of Baaeed Alynna. Speights Will and (Jupiter stablemate) Timeframe rounded out the order of finish. Streetshavenoname and Lennox the Grey were scratched.

The final time was 1:24.83.

“With the couple scratches we had in this race, we kind of had to play it from the break and see what happened, and we ended up kind of having a pocket trip on the rail, and it worked out today,” said Aebly.

“When we hit the eighth pole and I really set him down and asked him to finish up, he did. He found that other gear for me.”

Trained by Mark Casse and owned by D.J. Stable LLC, Jupiter had a bright debut on June 22 at Woodbine.

The son of Upstart out of the Karakontie (JPN) mare Magnanimous, sent off at 6-5, held a head advantage at the stretch call in the 5 ½-furlong main track maiden special weight race and then opened up to notch a three-length score in 1:04.52.

Bred in Kentucky by David Schwartz, the dark bay gelding was second in the Victoria Stakes on July 12 and fifth in the Soaring Free Stakes on August 16.

Jupiter paid $3.80 for Sunday’s milestone win.
