In anticipation of the CTHS Ontario Division’s Canadian Premier Yearling Sale, the HBPA of Ontario and Woodbine Entertainment Group would like to assure buyers of Ontario Sired yearlings that there is no intention of eliminating the Ontario Sired Program during the horse’s two-year-old and three-year-old campaigns. The HBPA of Ontario and Woodbine will be meeting later in the fall to confirm purses and race conditions for the 2018 thoroughbred meet. Those discussions will not include the elimination of the Ontario Sired Program at Woodbine. Woodbine’s intention is to offer quality racing and to continue to be part of the leading group of racetracks that offer some of the strongest purses in North America. Woodbine and the HPBA of Ontario do not foresee any material changes to the Ontario Sired Program for 2018 and 2019. We encourage our owners and trainers to support and invest in our local sale to help stabilize, grow and promote our local breeding industry. Share This:Share
