TORONTO, September 23 – Owner-breeder John Unger, who campaigned Canada’s 2014 Sovereign Award older female champion Strut the Course, passed away Thursday.
“He was a tremendously respected and beloved man in the horse racing community,” said Woodbine CEO, Jim Lawson, a close friend and colleague of Mr. Unger. “He work tirelessly on the sport’s behalf with respect to tax reform for owners and breeders. He will be missed by all of us in the Woodbine racing family.”
