TORONTO, February 2, 2018 – Ronald ‘Ronnie’ Robinson, longtime paddock judge at Woodbine and Greenwood, passed away on January 24 at the age of 85.
A fixture in Ontario horse racing, Robinson was a veteran horseman, jockey and onetime valet and mentor to Hall of Fame rider Sandy Hawley.
“Ronnie Robinson was my valet when I first started riding and he became like my second father. I will miss him a lot,” said Hawley.
A Celebration of Ronnie’s life will be held on Saturday, March 10 at In Memoriam Life Celebration Centre, 633419 Highway 10, Unit B1, Mono, Ontario from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Words of Remembrance will be said at 2 p.m.
