Champion apprentice Sofia Vives had herself a Saturday. In race eight, she partnered classy 6-year-old Cruden Bay to victory in the $175,000 bet365 Connaught Cup (G2T). One race later, Vives teamed with Chiefswood Stables’ homebred filly Kin’s Concerto to take all the spoils in the $500,000 Woodbine Oaks Presented by Stella Artois.

Saturday afternoon was a home run for jockey Sahin Civaci, who guided My Boy Prince to a win in the $150,000 Plate Trial Stakes in the sixth race. One race later, the multiple graded stakes winning rider piloted Solo Album to a No. 1 hit in the $135,000 Trillium Stakes Presented by Don Julio (G3). Civaci also won the fifth race with Shotgun Wedding and the tenth with Ready to Jam.

Jockey Da-Sean Gaskin came up with an outstanding “double” in Sunday’s first race. Not only did he win the race with Adelaide Court, but he also managed to corral a loose horse, Break the Spell, after the wire and hand the bay colt off to the outriders.
Noteworthy
The Woodbine Oaks score represented the 999th win for Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame trainer Josie Carroll. Conditioner Kevin Attard went back-to-back in Saturday’s second and third races, winning with Noahs Ark and Salt, respectively.
