Blushing Brat held the lead late, but finished fourth, a head behind Molinaro Fort, who was a nose behind Occasio, a neck loser to Bears Redneck (ridden by Luis Contreras and trained by Read Baker). Seemingly languishing at the back of the pack early in this 25K maiden claiming event, the Woodbine Oaks nominee was excellent in stretch, splitting horses to get up in the final jumps for Emile Ramsammy and Mike Doyle. Click here #3 – Wednesday, May 11; Race 2 – The largest margin of the Woodbine meet so far came in Wednesday’s 16k claimer as Major Marvel dominated seven rivals, winning by 9 ¾ lengths, recording a big Beyer number of 94, second highest of the week, for Emile Ramsammy and Laurie Silvera. Click here #2 – Sunday, May 15; Race 8; La Lorgnette Stakes – Inglorious stamped herself as the likely favourite for the Woodbine Oaks, presented by Budweiser, in the La Lorgnette, coming from off the pace against open company for Luis Contreras and Josie Carroll. Click here #1 – Saturday, May 14; Race 8; Grade 3 Hendrie Stakes – Embur’s Song was stunning in her 3 1/2-length victory on Saturday against older fillies and mares in the Hendrie, ringing up a 101 Beyer figure, the highest of the 22-day meet for Patrick Husbands and Todd Pletcher.
