Stylish score
Stylish Gent, a 4-year-old son of Outwork, outworked his rivals in Saturday’s second race to the tune of a 7 ¼-length score. With Fraser Aebly in the irons, the Vito Armata trainee was quickly in the clear and widened his advantage at will throughout the seven-furlong race on the Tapeta. The Ontario-bred paid $5.60 for the win.
Delivering the goods
Logistics, trained by Mark Casse for owner D.J. Stable LLC, crossed the wire 3 ¾ lengths ahead of his nearest pursuer in Saturday’s sixth race. Patrick Husbands, aboard for the win, guided the Kentucky-bred filly to the lead early and the pair easily held sway to take the seven-furlong trek over the Tapeta.
A perfect 10-plus
Sense You Left, trained by Martin Drexler, left her foes far behind in Saturday’s seventh race. Jose Campos had the 6-year-old bay mare two lengths on top at the half and eight ahead at the stretch call. At the wire, the daughter of Street Sense was long gone, 10 ½ lengths the best in the nine-horse field.
October in November
It was a month later than his name would suggest, but October Frost heated things up in Sunday’s first race. Piloted by Leo Salles, the 4-year-old son of Creative Cause had an ideal trip and used it to earn a half-length score. Those who backed the roan gelding were rewarded with a $28.90 payout for a $2 win bet. Trained and owned by Don Pleterski, October Frost won his second race on the campaign.
Wired for victory
A 3-year-old son of Street Sense, bay colt Loose Wire remained undefeated in two starts after a 1 ½-length triumph in Sunday’s sixth race. Trained by Kevin Attard for Repole Stable and St. Elias Stables LLC, the Ontario-bred covered the 1 1/8 miles in 1:51.07. He won his debut on October 29 at Woodbine.
