Worth hearing

“I was worried, he has shown a lot of speed in the past. I didn’t want to go too quick, but he was able to relax and was very professional throughout the whole race.”

– jockey Eswan Flores, who guided Babbo to a wire-to-wire score in Saturday’s $250,000 Coronation Futurity Stakes.

Worth watching

Inudation and War Painter put on quite the show in Saturday’s $250,000 Princess Elizabeth Stakes, providing trainer Kevin Attard with a thrilling one-two finish in the 1 1/16-mile Tapeta event.

Worth knowing

Stakes action continues Saturday with a pair of co-features, the Clarendon and the Shady Well. On Sunday, the Valedictory (G3), a 1 ½-mile tilt over the Tapeta for 3-year-olds and up, takes centre stage.
