TORONTO, September 30, 2026— Woodbine Entertainment is proud to host its sixth annual Woodbine Aftercare Day for Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance during this Saturday’s (October 3) Canadian International Day. Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance works to accredit, inspect, and award grants to approved North American organizations that retrain, retire, and rehome Thoroughbreds who have finished their racing careers. LongRun Thoroughbred Retirement Society is the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance accredited organization local to Woodbine. Through donations and volunteer work, LongRun provides retired Thoroughbreds with a pathway to successful second careers and loving adoptive homes with individualized training and evaluation. As part of Woodbine Aftercare Day, Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance is the presenting sponsor of the Grade 3 Nearctic Stakes. The organization will present Best Turned-Out Horse Awards, sponsored by Josham Farms Limited, for all stakes races on Saturday, including the Canadian International (G1), bet365 Dance Smartly Stakes (G2), bet365 Algonquin Stakes (G3), and the Cup & Saucer Stakes. Throughout the day, jockeys and valets can choose to donate a portion of their purse earnings to Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance. “The Woodbine community has demonstrated a strong commitment to Thoroughbred aftercare, and we’re grateful for their continued support,” said Stacie Clark-Rogers, Operations Consultant for Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance. “We’re excited to celebrate that commitment once again at this year’s Woodbine Aftercare Day.” On Saturday, Woodbine Entertainment will make a charitable donation to Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance of $20,000.
