Career

• In 2014, O’Sullivan’s stable earned over $2 million for the fourth consecutive year and over $1 million for the sixth-straight season.
• O’Sullivan surpassed $3 million in earnings for the third straight year in 2013.
• In 2013, O’Sullivan’s three-year-old pacing filly Love Canal won the WEG SBOA Stakes and the Canadian Breeders Championship.
• In 2012, O’Sullivan posted a new career high for wins with 154 from 776 starts.
• O’Sullivan celebrated a career year in 2011. On the WEG circuit in 2011, O’Sullivan finished second in the trainer standings behind Jeff Gillis. The New Zealand native sent out 94 winners in 548 starts and $2,805,298 in earnings. Overall, the Cambridge resident sent out 123 winners from 680 starters and $3,964,619 in earnings.
• 2011 marks the first time O’Sullivan was finalist in the Trainer of the Year category for the annual O’Brien Awards. O’Sullivan was edged out by conditioner Jeff Gillis for the award.
• On October 29, 2011, O’Sullivan sent out 11 entries in the Breeders Crown finals at Woodbine, which was a record.
• O’Sullivan, who was the leading trainer during the 2011 Mohawk summer meet, had a fine collection of stake horses as well as overnight horses, which contributed to his success. They include $500,000 Adios winner Alsace Hanover ($872,585), Blissful Smile ($170,742), Fantaddy ($166,454) and Maureen Rocks ($164,346).
• O’Sullivan was also the listed trainer behind several U.S. invaders in some of Ontario’s major stakes events in 2011.  They include but are not limited to Laughandbehappy, who captured the $400,000 Milton Stakes final at Mohawk ($559,026), Ticket To Rock ($321,087) and On The Glass ($152,188).
• Also in 2011, O’Sullivan’s Laughandbehappy and Maureen Rocks equalled the Mohawk track record for aged pacing mares as they stopped the clock in 1:49.1. They share the record with Sweet Hedge and A Ps Money Maker.
• During the fall of 2011, O’Sullivan took over the conditioning of Cameas Fellow before scoring the $300,000 OSS Super Final score for three-year-old pacing colts and geldings.
• In 2010, O’Sullivan had 68 winners from his stable, good for purse winnings of $1,528,037. While on the WEG circuit, O’Sullivan’s stock started 288 times, compiling a record of 38-45-49, good for $995,232 in earnings.
• O’Sullivan had a trio of stable stars in ’10 with the likes of Seriously, Dalhousie Dave and Dontgetinhisway. Seriously banked $183,455 while competing largely on the Grand Circuit, while Dalhousie Dave earned $300,503 while competing in the Ontario Sires Stakes programme. He also captured the $60,000 Summertime Series in 1:49.4, a new stakes record. Dontgetinhisway earned $142,464 in the Ontario Sires Stakes programme before suffering a season-ending injury in September.
• Three-year-old trotting filly Susies Magic gave O’Sullivan the biggest win of his training career in the Breeders Crown at Woodbine in 2006 after coming from off-the-pace to notch a head victory in 1:55.4. The bright spots for O’Sullivan’s operation were hard knockers like Michelles Power, Blissful Smile, Photo Maxx and Kid Carson.
• After some success in his first year of training in 2004, O’Sullivan enjoyed a solid first full season in 2005, which was his first year on his own after being an assistant to trainer Mark Harder. The Cambridge resident won 36 races and earned $1,057,599.
• Among his ’05 successes was five-year-old trotter Upalazyriver ($145,775), who won five of 16 starts, including triumphs against Open and Preferred company.
• Other notable achievements in 2005 include Southwind Sasha’s opening leg victory in the Lifetime Dream Series and a $313,424 campaign by Bound For Glory, who finished second in the $680,100 Fan Hanover and third in a division of the Blue Grass (The Red Mile).
• In 2004, O’Sullivan won 16 of his 79 starts and earned $304,037.
