A look at some of the top highlights from the past long weekend of racing at Woodbine. Memorable Introduction Church and State, at 22-1, found his footing over a firm inner turf to capture the $125,000 Toronto Cup Stakes Presented by Crown Royal, Saturday at Woodbine. Teaming with rider Eswan Flores for the first time, the roan son of Caravaggio–Full Snow Moon displayed great patience before unleashing an impressive rally for home and gliding ahead of 16-1 challenger Thundering for the half-length tally. Now a two-time stakes winner (May’s King Corrie), Church and State, a $15,000 purchase at the Keeneland Association January 2023 Horses of All Ages sale, paid $47.40.
