In Pictures: World Approval wins the Ricoh Woodbine Mile

​TORONTO, September 19 – On Saturday, World Approval ran away from a field of top flight horses from Europe and across North America to capture the Grade 1 $800,000 Ricoh Woodbine Mile.

Favoured in the Mile for trainer Mark Casse and jockey John Velazquez, World Approval took the ‘Breeders Cup Win & You’re In’ event by 2 1/2-lengths over Lancaster Bomber in a final running time of 1:33.05.
On Sunday, the bounty of turf races continued with a pair of ‘Breeders’ Cup Win & You’re In’ events including the Grade 2 Summer Stakes won by Untamed Domain, and the Grade 1 Natalma captured in stylish fashion by Capla Temptress.
Woodbine track photographer Mike Burns, a multiple Sovereign Award winner, captured all the drama of a racing weekend that included Ikerrin Road romping in the Grade 3 Bold Venture; Quidura’s impressive rally in the Grade 2 Canadian; and Johnny Bear’s narrow nose score over Hawkbill in the Grade 1 Northern Dancer.
