Picture time again A spirited effort from veteran mare Cara Cara in Saturday’s seventh sent the 27-start veteran back into the winner’s circle after knocking on the door all season. Raring to go following a third and two seconds in her previous three starts, the bay bred by Howard Walton showed true grit down the lane to get up by a neck for her first victory since last June. The John Mattine trainee, who has been a consistent presence on the podium throughout her career (5-7-6), paid $7.20. Cara Cara, seen here winning last June at Woodbine. Michael Burns Photography. Verdict is in… Philip Banks dropped the gavel with an authoritative 3 ¾-length victory on Sunday afternoon at Woodbine. Making just his second career start in Woodbine’s fifth, the son of Silent Name (JPN)–Fresh Princess, who debuted with a fourth in July’s Lake Superior Stakes, also at Woodbine, set the tempo early and never looked back for the maiden-breaking score. The 3-year-old bred, owned, and trained by Tony Gattellaro paid $8.60. Alexa Wisnoski and Philip Banks. Stay tuned Live racing continues Thursday. Share This:Share
