TORONTO, September 23 – Owner-breeder John Unger, who campaigned Canada’s 2014 Sovereign Award older female champion Strut the Course, passed away Thursday. “He was a tremendously respected and beloved man in the horse racing community,” said Woodbine CEO, Jim Lawson, a close friend and colleague of Mr. Unger. “He work tirelessly on the sport’s behalf with respect to tax reform for owners and breeders.
