South African-born jockey Ryan Munger won his first race at Woodbine – his new home track – when he guided Silent Miracle to victory in the sixth race on Saturday. Bred and owned by RCC Racing Stable, Silent Miracle, a 3-year-old son of Silent Name (JPN), is trained by John Mattine.
Emma-Jayne… again
Champion jockey Emma-Jayne Wilson continued her penchant for winning the final race on the card when she teamed with C C’s Kingdom to take race 10 on Saturday. The 4-year-old son of Animal Kingdom is trained and co-owned by Steven Chircop.
Over the moon for Skye
Jockey Skye Chernetz and first-time starter Tipsy Moon dominated the first race on Sunday, posting a 10 ¾-length triumph in the 6 ½-furlong Tapeta race. The Kentucky-bred 3-year-old filly is trained by Dave Cotey, who co-owns with breeder Noelle Ramsey.
Silver charm
Silver Magnatized, bred and owned by Al & Bill Ulwelling, notched her fifth career win in Sunday’s third race. The 4-year-old daughter of Bodemeister was ridden to victory by Rafael Hernandez.
Simcoe scores
Chiefswood Stables’ homebred Simcoe, a dark bay son of Uncle Mo, won Sunday’s sixth race, a 1 1/16-mile main track maiden special weight affair. The 3-year-old dark bay, trained by Katerina Vassilieva, was ridden by Rafael Hernandez.
Worth repeating
“C C’s Kingdom, on Coronation Day, of course… C C’s Kingdom by about two or three lengths.” Track announcer Robert Geller’s call in the late stages of race 10 on Saturday.
