TORONTO, May 19, 2018 – It’s off to the races!  Toronto’s newest society event at the races, Greenwood Stakes, has announced programming details for its inaugural festival to take place on May 26, 2018, at Woodbine Racetrack from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.  The afternoon will include high stakes Thoroughbred horse races, style contests, lawn games, art installations, culinary fare as well as a cocktail showcase with Toronto’s top mixologists and more!

In celebration of the 10th
anniversary of the Deighton Cup, dubbed by press and attendees as Vancouver’s biggest fashion and social affair of the summer, attracting more than 5,000 people every year, event producers Parade Agency and the Social Concierge are launching its sister event in Toronto, the Greenwood Stakes. Named in homage to the 19th century Greenwood Raceway that had its heyday in Toronto’s roaring 1920s, the event will bring out the see-and-be-seen crowd clad in bespoke seersucker suits, fascinators and Southern Belle-inspired finery, for a day of festivities at the track.

Tickets start at $75 and are available for purchase online at
www.greenwoodstakes.com. A portion of proceeds from all ticket sales will benefit motionball for the Special Olympics Canada Foundation.

Evelyn Chick (bar manager of Pretty Ugly Bar), the Cocktail Jockey Showcase will feature cocktails crafted by Zak Doy (Figo), Casey Ryan (Civil Liberties), Sally Gillespie (Pretty Ugly) and Tyler Newsome (Bar Raval).

Entertainment
With something for everyone, the afternoon will feature a combination of live music from one of Toronto¹s most unique emerging bands, folk-rock quartet Birds of Bellwoods, and popular DJs Eric CarverSimon Jain and Conor Cutz, who between them will cover a variety of genres including Hip Hop, RnB, Dancehall, Classic and Deep House.
