Inside Track for June 6-7

June 8, 2026

Make it a double

After capping off his sophomore season with a visit to the winner’s circle, Yorkton’s Honour stayed hot with a commanding 5 ¼-length tally in his 2026 debut, Saturday at Woodbine.

Under the reliable hand of current leading rider Pietro Moran (29 wins), the 4-year-old son of Yorkton–Pipers Honour led throughout the seven-furlong claiming contest for the unrivaled score in 1:24.03.

Trained by Sid Attard, Yorkton’s Honour now stands at 3-1-2 with nearly $92,000 banked from 11 starts for breeder/owner Chiefswood Stables.

At 6-1 in Saturday’s third, he paid $15.40.

Divine triumph

Angel’s Prospect delivered a divine effort in the penultimate fixture on Woodbine’s 11-race Saturday to secure her first career victory at 21-1.

Making her season and Woodbine debuts following a pair of thirds at Century Downs last year, the sophomore Fed Biz filly was nearly untouchable en route to a confident 2 ¾-length decision with Emma-Jayne Wilson in the irons.

Angel’s Prospect is trained by Todd Kettleson for owner John P. Sinnott, who bred the chestnut out of Silent Name (JPN) mare My Borrowed Angel in Alberta with Triple K Stables.

Now standing at 1-0-2 with $22,456 in prizes from three starts, Angel’s Prospect paid $44.20.

Victorious!

RCC Racing Stable’s Guerra showcased a relentless motor under rider Kemarie Blackett in a maiden-breaking 34-1 triumph on Sunday afternoon at Woodbine.

A furious final sixteenth proved the difference for the 3-year-old son of Army Mule–Sonic Cyster, who got up late to reach the wire three-quarters-of-a-length clear for trainer John Mattine.

Guerra’s breakthrough came in his third career start, which erased a pair of sixth place finishes, each coming at Woodbine last season.

Now on the board with over $32,000 in prizes to his name, Guerra paid $70.10 in Sunday’s sixth.
